Diana Leigh Murphy Witty is an accomplished oil painter whose works celebrate the beauty, strength, and mystique of women. Her intricate paintings, often rendered on canvas and wood, depict women as goddesses intertwined with nature, evoking a sense of the fantastical, the sublime, and the hauntingly beautiful.
From an early age, Diana found joy in expressing herself through art, beginning with crayons and coloring books, which evolved into pen-and-ink and large-scale pencil drawings. While her artistic passion remained, she devoted 33 years of her life to nursing, specializing in critical care, oncology, home health, stroke rehabilitation, and case management. Her career took her to major medical centers in Dallas and Kansas City before ultimately bringing her back to her hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
After the passing of her parents and her brother, Michael, Diana returned to painting with renewed vigor and purpose. Under the mentorship of Ross Meyers and Marjorie Atwood, her skills flourished, and her confidence as an artist grew. Alongside her painting practice, Diana embraced yoga, which quieted her mind and deepened her connection to her muse—a force she describes as guiding her creativity and inspiring her to bring comfort, beauty, and love into the world.
Diana’s art has been showcased in numerous galleries, including Royce Meyers Gallery, Jill Pinkerton Gallery, and Landon Thomas Gallery in Tulsa, where she now has a studio in the historic Phil Tower Building. Her work is also permanently displayed at The Silver Fox in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Through her paintings, Diana seeks to create moments of beauty, peace, and wonder, inviting viewers to explore the intricate interplay between femininity and nature. Her vibrant, fantastical creations bring joy, love, and a touch of magic to all who encounter them.
Diana continues to create from her studio at The Painted Moth in downtown Tulsa, where her art embodies her lifelong commitment to bringing light and inspiration into the world. May her work bring you peace, joy, and a sense of the extraordinary.
