Gina Alusi

Gina Alusi is a full-time mixed media artist based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Originally from Colombia, she relocated to the United States approximately nine years ago, bringing with her a rich cultural heritage that deeply influences her artistic expression.

Gina's artistic journey is characterized by her passion for experimentation and a relentless pursuit of new techniques. Her work often explores themes close to her heart, notably her love for animals and the empowerment of women. Through her art, she aims to evoke feelings of happiness, freedom, and inspiration in her audience.

Since the establishment of The Painted Moth's storefront, Gina has been an invaluable collaborator. Her unwavering support and assistance have significantly alleviated the challenges and stress associated with launching a new store, transforming the experience into a more enjoyable journey. Alongside fellow artist Randolph Read, Gina contributed to the storefront's aesthetic by creating the captivating window art that draws visitors into the space.

Beyond her artistic contributions, Gina has been instrumental in the store's operations. She has graciously managed the store in the owner's absence, assisted in rearranging merchandise, hung paintings, provided insightful advice, and collaborated on event planning. Her dedication and multifaceted support have been pivotal to the success and vibrant atmosphere of The Painted Moth.

Gina's work has been featured in various exhibitions and events, reflecting her active engagement with the local art community. She participated in the "Wings & Wildflowers: A Celebration of Oklahoma Pollinators" exhibit at the Myriad Botanical Gardens, showcasing her commitment to environmental themes.  Additionally, her art was displayed at the Maple Ridge Art Happening, WOMPA, and many others in Tulsa.

Gina's creative process is deeply personal, often drawing inspiration from her experiences and surroundings. Her dedication to her craft and her community continues to inspire those around her, making her an integral part of The Painted Moth and the broader Tulsa art scene.
