Pam Watson is a Tulsa-based abstract artist celebrated for her dynamic use of color, texture, and intuitive composition. Her artistic journey spans over two decades, encompassing various mediums such as fiber arts, jewelry design, glass blowing, and clay work, before she found her true passion in abstract painting in 2016. Pam primarily works with acrylics but also experiments with oils and other mediums, including cold wax, to create layered, textured pieces that convey depth and emotion.
Beyond her personal artistic endeavors, Pam is deeply committed to fostering the local art community in Tulsa. She has been a member of the Alpha Rho Tau civic art association and previously served on the Board of Living Arts of Tulsa, an organization dedicated to contemporary art forms. Pam volunteers for events and donates her art to numerous fundraisers throughout the year, reflecting her dedication to supporting her community. She was previously a member of the Hummingbird Fine Craft Cooperative in Tulsa and enjoys promoting her fellow artists alongside her own creations.
Pam's commitment to the arts extends to her own neighborhood. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, she initiated the Maple Ridge Art Happening, hosting art shows in her front yard to provide local artists with a platform to showcase their work when traditional galleries were closed. This event has grown significantly, featuring over 40 local artists and attracting numerous visitors, thereby strengthening the community's appreciation for local art.
Pam's dedication to her craft and her community continues to inspire those around her, making her an integral part of The Painted Moth and the broader Tulsa art scene.
