November Tea Ceremony | The Art of Masala Chai | Gathering

Join us at Ren & Kate Farm for a cozy exploration of masala chai, the beloved Indian tradition of combining black tea, aromatic spices, milk, and sweetness. We’ll slow down to experience the individual ingredients before bringing them together to create and share a warming pot of chai.

This gathering is part sensory experience, part tea lesson, and part invitation to connect. You’ll leave with a better understanding of how chai is made and the confidence to experiment and create your own favorite blend at home.

Location: Ren & Kate Farm, 29151 E. 28th St. S  Broken Arrow, OK

Date & Time: Sunday November 15th, 10-11:30am

During this experience, you'll learn:

• What chai and masala chai mean and a little about the history and traditions surrounding them

• How black tea creates the foundation for masala chai

• How to recognize and use traditional chai spices such as cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, clove, fennel, and black pepper

• How each spice contributes a different aroma, flavor, and character to the finished cup

• How to combine and balance spices rather than relying on one exact chai recipe

• How to prepare masala chai on the stovetop using tea, spices, milk, and sweetener

• How to adjust a chai recipe to create a blend that suits your own taste

We’ll smell and explore whole spices, watch as our chai is built layer by layer, and enjoy several small tastings along the way before gathering over a final cup together.

We’ll close with time for quiet reflection and conversation around the theme, Gathering and Gratitude, and the warmth we receive from others, the warmth we create for ourselves, and what we each bring to the spaces where we gather.

Please bring a journal and pen for personal reflection. No previous tea knowledge or experience is needed.

The gathering will be held at Ren & Kate Farm. Weather permitting, we'll gather outdoors on our deck overlooking the pond and wooded area. In the event of cold, rain, or unsuitable weather, we'll move inside.
